Cashmere Care
Cashmere is naturally soft, warm and remarkably durable when cared for properly. A little attention will keep your favourite pieces looking and feeling their best for years to come.
Washing
Cashmere doesn’t need washing after every wear. Often, simply airing your knitwear is enough to keep it fresh.
When it’s time for a wash, we recommend hand washing in cool water using a gentle cashmere or wool detergent. Avoid rubbing or twisting the fabric, and rinse carefully in clean water.
Always check the individual care label before washing.
Drying
Gently squeeze out excess water without wringing. Roll your cashmere in a clean towel to absorb any remaining moisture, then reshape and lay flat to dry.
Avoid tumble drying, radiators and direct sunlight, as excessive heat can damage the fibres.
Pilling
Small bobbles may appear on the surface of cashmere with regular wear. This is a natural characteristic of the fibres, particularly in areas exposed to friction.
Gently remove any bobbles using a cashmere comb or specialist fabric shaver, taking care not to pull the yarn.
Storing
Cashmere is best stored folded rather than hung, which helps maintain its shape.
Keep your pieces clean and dry, away from direct sunlight. For longer-term storage, use a breathable cotton bag and consider a natural moth repellent.
Made to Be Worn
Cashmere is surprisingly easy to care for. With a little care, your Cashmere Principle pieces will stay soft, comfortable and looking good season after season.
